About Us

History of National Mathematics Competition
The first UTAR Mathematics Competition was organized in August 2004 at the intra-university level. Due to positive responses from participants, the committee decided to organize the future competitions at the national level.
The 1st UTAR National Mathematics Competition was held in 2005 and attracted more than 150 participants from various colleges and varsities. In year 2020, due to pandemic of COVID-19 & the health concern, 15th UTAR Mathematics Competition was cancelled. The year 2021 will see the 15th UTAR Mathematics Competition Reborn being held on 9th-11th July 2021. Due to the pandemic, the committee decided to switch the mode of competition from past year physically to hold it online using UTAR WBLE platform.

To cultivate interest in Mathematics among highschool, college and university students.

To enhance mathematics knowledge and develop creative and critical thinking skill among the students.

To seek and encourage mathematically gifted undergraduate students in Malaysia.

To promote both undergraduate and postgraduate Mathematics-based courses offered by UTAR.

To foster friendly ties between high schools, colleges and universities.

To foster ties between research centre members and students.
